Adult Library

The Adult Library is located in the Lawrence and Barbara Jaffe Administration Conference Room.

Within the library you can find a vast selection of books on Jewish culture, theology, religious practice, cookbooks, arts, music, crafts, fiction of Jewish interest, newspapers and magazines, and Jewish and Israeli history and biography. Our mission as a library is to enrich the religious and cultural Jewish life and identity of the members of the congregation. The Adult Library supplements the synagogue’s adult education program by providing materials in support of the program’s curriculum and special events, and providing a reliable set of reference materials to support the membership's general inquiries into Jewish subjects.

There is a large table and chairs if you want to sit and relax.

May Update:

it is amazing that the library has grown so much in the last few years.  From just a few books we have grown to over 1000 titles covering every topic that pertains to Judaism. We run the gamut from art to Rabbinic literature to fiction to songs, travels etc.  These are all here for you to borrow. We also have other texts for reference such as the Zohar, Talmud , Prophets, etc.

With this growth has come a new problem- we have literally run out of shelving & need more.  I am hoping that we can count on our members to pitch in a few dollars each so that we can purchase another unit.  The total cost is only $160 dollars. We also have duplicates of a few books that are in good shape & we are willing to let them go to good homes.  Wanderings by Potok is a lovely coffee table book that we have more than one & are willing to part with. 1st come, first gets it.   Thanks for your help, Wendy H. and Elaine F.
