High Holy Days Youth Programming

Preschool Aged (12 months - pre-kindergarten) Programming & Services

Preschool Family Services on Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Monday, September 10, Rosh Hashanah Day 2, Tuesday, September 11 and Yom Kippur, Wednesday, September 19.

Families of babies through pre-kindergarten age children are welcome to join together for music, telah and fun from 11:15 AM- 12:00 PM in the Levin Family Indoor Play Area in the DuBow Preschool.

Complimentary preschool-aged programming and babysitting is available by reservation ONLY for Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Rosh Hashanah Day 2, Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur and Ne’ilah. 

While you are worshiping throughout the High Holy Day season, the Jacksonville Jewish Center is pleased to provide a complimentary, safe, nuturing and enjoyable program for your preschool-aged child in our DuBow Preschool classrooms. Supervised childcare is also available during Kol Nidre and Ne’ilah Services. Structured programming that includes songs and story times, activities and games are scheduled for Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Day 2 and Yom Kippur.

RESERVATIONS ARE NECESSARY AND APPRECIATED.

All High Holy Day Children’s Programming is free of charge. We do ask that you enroll early in order to ensure proper staffing. Kindergarten Through twelfth grade programming & services 

Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade programs will begin at 10:30 AM on Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Monday, September 10, Rosh Hashanah Day 2, Tuesday, September 11 and Yom Kippur, Wednesday, September 19.

Rosh Hashanah Day 1 - Monday, September 10

Grades K-5: Come celebrate the High Holy Days with a Rosh Hashanah improv show and exciting programming including telah, stories, games, snacks, and fun!

Grades 6-8: Middle School students are invited to participate in a peer-led tefilah experience followed by an engaging Rosh Hashanah improv show.

Grades 9-12: High School students will take part in an interactive service followed by a Rosh Hashanah activity planned by their peers.

Rosh Hashanah Day 2 - Monday, September 11

Grades K-5: Come celebrate the High Holy Days with a variety of activities including tefilah, stories, games, snacks, and fun!

Grades 6-12: Middle and High School students are invited to participate in an interactive service followed by experiential workshops for cultivating spiritual growth and reection in the New Year.

Erev Yom Kippur - Kol Nidre, Tuesday, September 18

Grades K-3: Complimentary supervised programming for students in Kindergarten through Third Grade is available from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM for those families attending services.  Reservations are appreciated and requested by Friday, September 14.  To RSVP download the form HERE  and return it to Sarah in the Center's Clergy office or email your reservation to [email protected].

Yom Kippur Morning - Wednesday, September 19

Grades K-5: Come celebrate the High Holy Days with a Yom Kippur improv show and exciting programming including telah, stories, games, snacks, and fun!

Grades 6-8: Middle School students are invited to join in a special program combining tefilah and discussions about the signicance of Yom Kippur.

Grades 9-12: High School students will take part in an interactive service followed by a Yom Kippur activity planned by their peers.

Yom Kippur Afternoon - Wednesday, September 19

After the conclusion of Yom Kippur Youth Programming on Wednesday, September 19, complimentary supervised care for children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade will be provided from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM for those families who are attending services. 1:00 - 1:45 PM Lunch - Children should be sent with a bag lunch that is kosher, dairy and nut free.

1:45 - 3:00 PM Supervised Indoor/Outdoor Play - Children may bring a change of clothes if desired.
