Children's Shabbat Programming

The Jacksonville Jewish Center offers mulitple programs during Shabbat services.

For our families with preschool aged children and younger we offer:

Shabbat Morning Babysitting is available for children ages 1 - 5 in the classrooms of the DuBow Preschool from  9:30 AM until the conclusion of services.

Gan Shabbat; a family friendly service for preschool-aged children and their parents is held in the Levin Indoor Playroom in the DuBow Preschool at 11:15 AM  

For our families with children in Kindergarten through fifth grade we offer the following programs on a rotating basis:

Camp Shabbat; Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade are invited at 10:30 AM to the Neal F. Portnoy Youth Lounge to participate in an abbreviated youth-led service. After the service, we will engage in fun, educational activities that are connected to Parashat HaShavua or a relevant holiday.

Youth Shabbat; Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade and their families are invited at 10:30 AM to the Joe & Sophie Witten Chapel for an interactive service designed especially for them! We will follow the traditional outline of the service using upbeat melodies and alternative methods of leading each prayer such as charades, "popcorn-style" and more.

K-2 Mini Minyan; Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade are invited at 10:30 AM for a Shabbat morning prayer experience that includes stories, songs and fun

3-5 Mighty Minyan; Children in 3rd through 5th grade are invited at 10:30 AM for a Shabbat morning prayer service that includes a youth-led service and games facilitated 
by our Teen Leaders.
